There are many machines to choose from if you are in the market for a budget rice cooker. These appliances do one thing, namely they make rice. The question you may be asking yourself is, should I consume more rice as part of my diet? The answer in my opinion is yes. There are a couple of reasons for this. Primarily because it is good for our health. As a source of carbohydrates that is nutritious and low in fat rice is excellent. There are many different grains to choose from too, e.g. white rice, brown rice and so on. The second reason is that it tastes good. There is nothing like a good bit of variety in the diet. People living the the West have not traditionally eaten much rice. However in the current day and age we can get all sorts of appliances to help us make great tasting rice. There are top of the range rice cookers like those made by Zojirushi and Tiger as well as low cost models like the Panasonic SRG06FG, the Black & Decker RC3303 and the Aroma ARC-733G.
If you have not eaten a great deal of rice before there are a couple of things you could do if you wanted to start. You could choose a good low cost model like those mentioned above. Or you could dive straight in and get an expensive Japanese rice cooker from the word go. Both options have merit. It has to be said, the more you spend on a rice cooking machine, the better the quality of the rice it will make. However this difference is marginal. Some rice cookers cost ten times as much as the budget models we are discussing here but that does not mean that the rice tastes ten times better.
You could start off with a cheap appliance and then if you use it regularly replace it with a higher quality rice cooker.
